Top Ten Tuesday: (Updated) Book Series I Need To Finish

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is a Freebie!

Hello Readers! It’s been a whirlwind of a week for me. We took a quick trip to Galveston beach with some extended family, and it was so nice to visit and relax, but I barely cracked a book open. Oops. Hopefully I can make it up this week.

It’s been two years since I looked at my unfinished book series, so I thought it was time to take another look, see what I’ve read, and see what new series I’ve left uncompleted. I’m happy to report I have finished at least two out of the ten series I included in my old post: The Lord of the Rings Trilogy and The 5th Wave series. It’s not much, but it’s something!

Most of the series I’ve chosen today are completed book series or they only have a few books left to be published soon. Let’s see what I need to finish!

1

Heartstopper by Alice Oseman

I just read the first two volumes of this graphic novel series a few months ago in preparation for the Netflix adaptation, and it has stolen my heart. Absolutely precious!

2

Bergman Brothers by Chloe Liese

I’d seen several other bloggers rave about this romance series and I finally read the first book recently. Each book can be read as a standalone, but I’m anxious to read them all!

3

Bridgertons by Julia Quinn

Like many others, I discovered this historical fiction romance series after bingeing the first season of the adaptation on Netflix. It was a different experience reading the book after I’d watched the show, but I didn’t mind it. I read the second book before I watched the second season, though.

4

The Brown Sisters by Talia Hibbert

I’ve only read the first book in this romance series despite already owning the second. Hopefully I can finish this series soon!

Left Drowning by Jessica Park

I just recently picked up the second book at a thrift store, so hopefully I can finish up this NA series soon!

Well Met by Jen DeLuca

I finally read Well Met while on vacation last year and I adored it! I was just approved for an ARC of Well Traveled, which means I need to hurry up and read the middle two. Yay!!

7

The Kiss Quotient by Helen Hoang

The first book in this series was such a pleasant surprise. I also enjoyed the second book, but not quite as much as the first. I was gifted the third book when we shared our Bookish Wishes last year, and I need to make it a priority read.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir

I’d had the first book in this YA fantasy series waiting to be read on my shelf for over three years. I finally read it last year, and enjoyed it so much I picked up the second book. I plan on reading it to fulfill a prompt on my Popsugar Reading Challenge soon!

9

Fable by Adrienne Young

The first book in this series was an impulse read when I saw the ARC available as a ‘Read Now’ on Netgalley for a limited time. I was blown away! Unfortunately I wasn’t approved for an ARC of the second book and I still need to read it. Hopefully soon!

10

Outlander by Diana Gabaldon

This time-traveling historical fiction fantasy romance series is quite the commitment with each book coming in around at least 800 pages. But it’s so worth the time. And there are plenty of extra books if you need more.

Is the series complete? No, one more core book is expected

Are any of these series unfinished for you, too? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Wandering!

  1. Great topic choice, Dedra! I haven’t kept track of how many series that I need and *want* to finish but I know for sure that the list will be very long πŸ˜‚ I also need to finish An Ember in the Ashes and the Brown Sisters series but I feel like for Ember, I’d need to reread the whole series first because I remember so little of it now. πŸ™ˆ I hope you enjoy all these books and happy reading!

    1. There are definitely series where I feel like I need to reread the older books. I have also been known to resort to visiting sites like ‘Recaptains’ to try and refresh my memory of previous books. πŸ˜‰

  2. Aw man you got approved for Well Traveled? I am sooo jealous. I got denied, and it was one of my most anticipated. Oh well. I highly recommend the Outlander series, but the last book WAS on the disappointing side for me. I really need to read the Brown Sisters series, because I have heard wonderful things!

    1. I was completely surprised I got approved for Well Traveled because I didn’t get approved for the previous book! As Outlander gets further and further along, I grow more and more nervous about what’s to come. Brown sisters is great as long as you don’t mind ultra steamy. πŸ˜‰

  3. You’re like me….I’ve started lots of series, but haven’t finished many of them. At least you have lots of good books to look forward to reading. Fun TTT!

  4. Shockingly, I am up to date with Heartstopper. And I am rarely up to date with any series. LOL Oh, and I’m up with the Well Met series, too. It’s been years since I read the Outlander series so I think I’m about 3 books behind there.

    1. Heartstopper is a good one to be up to date on. I’ve got to quickly pick up the next two in the Well Met series so I can read that fourth one. It’s a great problem to have. πŸ˜‰ I once went about two years between reading the next Outlander book. Their size makes them daunting!

  5. I need to finish Bergman Brothers, and The Brown Sisters. I need to start the Bridgerton series, and I will finish the Well Met series when I complete the last book Well Travelled when I get to my ARC. I did finish the The Kiss Quotient series. I need to also start The Heartstopper series. And I’ve only read the first 3 books of the Outlander series, and I”m not sure I’ll continue those or not.

    1. Glad to hear I’m not alone with most of these. Outlander is hard to commit to. Especially when there are so many books. I hope we both enjoy Well Traveled!

  6. You are doing well with Outlander considering how massive all those books are. I loved the Well Met and Brown Sisters books. I would love a Brown Sisters spinoff. There was a character in the third book with amazing sisters. I see possibilities there. I still need to read Restless Waters. I bought that book eons ago. I should do it for a backlog book one of these days.

    1. I’m trying desperately to stay ahead of the Outlander adaptation because I don’t want to get spoiled. I wasn’t sure if this last season would include anything from book 7 (it didn’t), so now I’m ahead. Which means I probably won’t pick up the next one for several years. Haha! Oooh, I like the possibility of a Brown Sisters spinoff! And I’m happy I’m not alone in needing to read Restless Waters. I feel like I would need to reread Left Drowning before I pick it up since it’s been so long.

  7. Great choice for your freebie. I almost chose this topic. I have read the Kiss Quotient series and Fable, but I do have the prequel to read. Enjoy them when you get a chance to finish them all.

  8. Great list. I want so many of these series are on my TBR and I have read Talia Hibbert’s Brown Sister series (and loved it).
    Have a great week
