Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Books From My Past Seasonal TBR Posts I STILL Havenβt Read (Submitted by Me!)
Hello Readers! We’re trying to stay cool here in Texas. Locally, we haven’t seen rain since the first of June (we watched enviously as those around us had a nice storm last week), and the temps have stayed at 100 degrees Fahrenheit, hitting as high as 108 several days. It’s hot! And humid. It basically feels like a hot bubble just ready to burst. We just have to laugh about it to keep from crying. π©π
Back in April I did my own Top Ten Tuesday topic when I didn’t have time for the assigned prompt, and I chose Top Ten Books From My TBR Posts I STILL Haven’t Read. (Surprise! I still haven’t read them.) Deanna had suggested I recommend it for a future TTT prompt. I did, and I’m excited it was chosen! I’ll be sticking to my SEASONAL TBRs like the prompt instructs, and I’ll make sure not to repeat any from my original post. However, I could only find 7 books on my seasonal TTT posts that I didn’t use in my original post, so I did pick a few from other TTT posts that focused on seasonal-ish TBRs, as well.
Let’s see what I still need to read!
(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)
- Three Women by Lisa Taddeo – from my Fall 2019 TBR
- Misery by Stephen King – from my Spookiest Books on my TBR (October 2020)
- Watchers by Dean Koontz – from my Spookiest Books on my TBR (October 2020)
- Such a Fun Age by Kiley Reid – from my Summer 2021 TBR
- Summer of ’69 by Elin Hilderbrand – from my Summer 2021 TBR
- My Favorite Half-Night Stand by Christina Lauren – from my Summer 2021 TBR
- Mind the Gap, Dash & Lily by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan – from my Christmas in July TBR (2021)
- Running Wild by K.A. Tucker – from my Spring 2022 TBR
- The House in the Cerulean Sea by T.J. Klune – from my Summer 2022 TBR
- Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward – from my Summer 2022 TBR
Do you see any I should read sooner rather than later? Let me know in the comments!
Aww The House in the Cerulean Sea was a delightful and charming read – perfect for the summer!
Thank uou so.much for coming up with this theme and the chance to remind myself of some great books!
These are the books I still haven’t read from previous tbr posts!
Fingers crossed I finally get to Cerulean soon! It’s topped so many of my tbrs. Haha!
I wish I had looked ahead, because I did this prompt last week for my freebie. π I did Christmas books on my TBR the longest today as I am doing Christmas in July. I have read 2 of the books on your list, Summer of 69 and Cerulean Sea, both were good ones. Someday we will get all the books we want to read, read. NOT! πππ
Haha! I’ve seen several people who did this prompt or something similar the past few weeks, so looking back must be on all our minds. ‘Christmas books on your TBR the longes’t fits the seasonal prompt, too! Cerulean Sea remains at the top of my TBR; if only all the other books would get out of the way. π And yes, if I let myself start thinking about how many books I want to read, I quickly get overwhelmed. There’s never enough time. <3
Great topic suggestion today, Dedra! I still have to read that CLo, Such A Fun Age, and Three Women! I feel like I mention Such A Fun Age the most out of all of these though and yet I *still* haven’t read it! Maybe this post will motivate me to pick it up sooner rather than later, lol. I hope you enjoy these books whenever you get to them though!
The House in the Cerulean Sea is the one I feel like I’m mentioning all the time. I so want to get to it. If only I could stop accepting ARCs for a few weeks. Haha! I feel like I’ve been seeing My Favorite Half-Night Stand everywhere lately. And everyone always loves it. So it’s slowly creeping up higher on my tbr. π
Yikes, that’s a long time to go without rain. π Hope you get some relief soon!
I remember reading Watchers by Koontz ages ago (like, the early/mid 90’s) and I enjoyed it. Running Wild was so good. I loved finally getting Marie’s story.
Here’s my TTT: http://girlplusbooks.blogspot.com/2022/07/top-ten-tuesday-youre-still-one-books.html
We’ve heard rumors of rain this weekend, but our chance looks minimal here. π© I can’t believe as a Koontz fan I haven’t read Watchers. It seems to be one of the most favorites. I’m determined to get to Running Wild sometime this year. π
House in the Cerulean Sea is a great book!
Ive only done one seasonal TBR so I had to look back at Christmas books I haven’t read yet. I get distracted by Blog Tours and library books!
Have a great week!

Cerulean Sea is probably the book that tops many of my tbrs. I’m determined to get to it this year! Christmas books work perfectly for the prompt. π I completely understand getting distracted. ARCs are my distraction. Haha! Happy reading!
I *loved* The House in the Cerulean Sea, so I hope you enjoy it when you get to it! Though, having said that, Klune’s Under the Whispering Door is one that I’ve been meaning to read for quite a while now. I think I’ll be adding that to my autumn TBR list in the hopes that I get around to reading it.

It’s the book that tops my TBRs! I have a feeling Whispering Door will quickly be added to the list after I read Cerulean Sea. Haha!
That’s the way it went for me! LOL
Great idea for this week’s TTT! And you have a lot of good books on your list. Watchers by Dean R. Koontz is one of my favorite books. π
Oh yay!! I can’t believe as a Koontz fan I haven’t read Watchers yet. π€¦ββοΈ I need to make that happen.
Wow, that’s hot, and a long time without rain. Back in my town, there has been flooding for the past couple of weeks, wish we could send you some of that rain!
It’s so crazy that part of the country is flooding and the other is burning up. It definitely makes me nervous and sad for the future.
I just read Running Wild the other day. It was good. Not big on romance, but a great story for Marie. It was wonderful to catch up with Dash & Lily. It was amazing to see such grown up problems coming into their relationship. I liked Half Night Stand too. I know some people didn’t, but CLo always delights me.
I’m determined to make Running Wild happen this year. And Mind the Gap will be at the top of my holiday tbr. I feel like I’ve been seeing Half-Night Stand everywhere lately. And I’ve mostly seen positive reviews. So far I’ve loved everything I’ve read by CLo, too. Hopefully I’ll get to some of these soonish. π
I still need to read that CL book! House in the Cerulean Sea is sooo good!!! I hope you get to that one. π
Ugh, I REALLY want to get to both of those. Soon!
I’m rooting for you!!!
Honestly, if you struggled to find books to include this week, it sounds like you’ve done really well with your seasonal TBRs! Impressive. You definitely need to read The House in the Cerulean Sea, though! It’s fantastic! Thanks for recommending such a great topic, Dedra. π
Haha! Yeah, I guess I haven’t done too bad. I’m hopeful I can get to Cerulean Sea this month or next! <3
