Top Ten Tuesday: Purple, Yellow, and Green Book Covers for Mardis Gras

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Purple, Yellow, and/or Green Book Covers (in honor of Mardis Gras, which is today!)

Hello Readers! Happy Mardis Gras! To celebrate, we’re spotlighting purple, yellow, and green book covers. AND to continue my “love” theme for the month, all of my choices will be romances. To keep things aesthetically pleasing, I’ll be using five books for each color. All of these are off of my TBR (to-be-read) list, including a few ARCs. πŸ™‚

I’m sorry if you tried to stop by my Top Ten Tuesday post last week only to discover my account had been compromised and was redirecting to a spam website. It took us several days to get everything back to normal. I did learn a lot in the process, so hopefully I’ll be better prepared if/when it happens again. BUT it was unfortunate that it occurred right when my TTT Love Freebie I’d worked so hard on was posted. If you didn’t get to see it, please check out My Book Soundtrack: Love Song Edition, Vol. II: Tropes! <3

We’re also currently getting some crazy weather down here in Texas. You may have heard me complain in the past that we don’t get snow here anymore. Well, we finally did. It’s currently colder here in Texas than it is in Alaska! We’re very lucky that we haven’t had any power outages or problems with our water (so far), but many others around us have. We’re expecting more snow on Wednesday, and the temps won’t be changing much. We’ll be ready to get back to our typical sunshine and warmer weather by the end of this week. But at least it will be a memorable birthday week for me. πŸ˜‰

(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)

  1. Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron – A modern-day diverse feminist Cinderella retelling. You have my attention!
  2. Across the Universe by Beth Revis – A sci-fi young adult novel set aboard a spaceship with some romance and mystery, as well.
  3. From Thailand with Love by Camilla Isley – This enemies to lovers set on an expedition in the jungles of Thailand gives me major Indian Jones or Romancing the Stone vibes!
  4. If I Never Met You by Mhairi McFarlane – This rom-com about a fake office romance that heats up the workplace sounds too cute!
  5. All Your Perfects by Colleen Hoover – A couple with a perfect love struggles with their imperfect marriage.
  6. You Were There Too by Colleen Oakley – Happily married Mia has been dreaming of a mystery man for years. Her world is shaken when she meets him in real life—and he’s been dreaming of her, too!
  7. The Soulmate Equation by Christina Lauren (5/18/21) – The latest novel by the romance-writing duo involves DNA-based matchmaking. I’m intrigued!
  8. Take a Hint, Dani Brown by Talia Hibbert – The second installment in The Brown Sisters series, and this one involves a fake relationship that becomes too real.
  9. Anchored Hearts by Priscilla Oliveras (4/27/21) – A second chance romance set in Key West. I read an excerpt of this one and loved it!
  10. Last Couple Standing by Matthew Norman – A couple is shaken when three of their friends’ marriages end and they decide to take drastic measures to save their own.
  11. The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan – A librarian loses her job and starts a bookmobile! This is a must-read for me.
  12. I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith – A classic coming-of-age set in a castle. Need I say more??
  13. Evvie Drake Starts Over by Linda Holmes – A friends to lovers romance that deals with grief and beginning again.
  14. Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella – I hear this is a realistic look at severe anxiety. And it’s a rom-com?? Sounds like a must-read.
  15. Well Met by Jen DeLuca – A rom-com set at a Renaissance Faire?! Yes, please!

Did I include any of your favorites? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Wandering!

    1. Thank you! It got pretty crazy down here. We never lost power or water, but I know so many others did. We’re happy to finally have sunshine and warmer weather. <3
