Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Places in Books I’d Love to Live!
Hello Readers! Is it just me, or has March has flown by? Participating in a read-a-thon this month has pushed me to read more than I normally do, and I’ve read some great books. It’s been a fun reading month and I’m excited to share my wrap-up in a few days. I hope you’ve found time to read something good!
Today we’re talking about places in books we’d love to live. One of my favorite things about reading is WHERE books take me. I enjoy living vicariously in settings I otherwise wouldn’t be able to inhabit. I’m only including books I’ve read and enjoyed today. However, I did include some places that I might not want to relocate to permanently (hello, Alaska!), but it would be an adventure to live there short-term. π

I love your format for this post! I love reading books set in the places I plan to visit, and you’re making me want to do both of those things.
Thank you!! <3 I tend to do that, too. Or I'll read a book set somewhere while I'm there. It always enhances both experiences. ;)
What a lovely post! I think California, Main and The Mediterranean will be my best options. The rest are beautiful, but the weather might kill this girl (and cat!) from Africa!

Haha! Yes, I wouldn’t want to spend too long where it’s cold. Enough to say I’ve experienced it. π
Wonderful post Dedra. These are all places I would love to go. I have been to Ireland and Scotland, but for such a short amount of time, they are on my list to return. In the US, I think New York City tops my list.
Thank you Carla! I’ve never been out of the US. I have a little fear of flying that doesn’t help. But someday I will knock myself out and go! π I’ve been to NY and I loved it!
Great list of places, Dedra! I’d absolutely love to live in so many of these places as well! Scotland, Alaska, and Ireland are all top places for me π Sadly, I’ve only been to Scotland but the other two are defo on my bucket list!
I’ve never been out of the US. π€¦ββοΈ But someday I hope to change that. Thankfully we have books for now. π
I love your list! And also your idea of maybe not relocating permanently, but living in different places for a while. I’d love to live in Europe for a short time, for example, but it’s so different from what I know that I don’t know (yet) if I’d like it long-term. I live in California, and I can agree that it’s a great place to live, though it also has its issues. And the Pacific NW is somewhere I’ve always wanted to move to. Maybe someday.
Thank you Nicole! I’ve been to California twice and loved it, but yeah, I don’t know if I’d want to trade tornadoes for earthquakes and forest fires. π But it’s beautiful! I’ve been to the Pacific NW once and it was so gorgeous. We were only there two days so we didn’t get to see enough. I can’t wait to go back!
See, I’d rather have earthquakes than tornadoes or hurricanes. π (But adding in the forest fires… it’s getting to be too much. Sigh.) I have friends and family who live in the PNW, and I nearly went to university there. I really want to move up that way one of these years.
Haha! I guess we accept what we’re used to! I was in a tornado when I was four and strangely it made me less afraid of them. I would love to live in the PNW too! Definitely one of my favorite vacays. <3
I have been lucky enough to visit all these places (except Scotland – want to visit though), and I grew up in Brooklyn. I am still close to NYC now. I just did an 8-day trip out west (UT, AZ, CO), and would love to spend more time in the PNW (it’s stunning).
Oh wow!! I’m so envious.I’ve been to NY, AZ, NM, CO, California, and the PNW, but I’ve never been out of the US. UT is at the top of our wishlist. My husband is a mountain biker, so he definitely wants to visit Moab. We’re definitely itching to travel again. π
So many mountain bikers in Moab.
Ha! Yes!
