Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is a Freebie, so I decided to stick with my annual tradition of combining TTT and Jana’s Christmas Song Book Tag. You can check out my post from 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, and 2023 as well.
Hello Readers! It’s been a hot minute since I participated in Top Ten Tuesday, but I couldn’t miss my annual Christmas songs book tag! I promise you’ll hear more from me soon. I’m powering through to finish my yearly Popsugar Challenge, then I’ll be posting some End-of-the-Year posts. I’m a reader who typically reads 100+ books a year, and I’ll be lucky to get to 60. It’s been quite the busy year for me. But, at least reading less books will make this tag a little easier. π
Letβs see what books I chose!
For today’s prompt, I will be limiting my choices to books I read for the first time in 2024.

βAll I Want for Christmas Is Youβ:
Favorite bookish couple
I have been desperate to read the next installment in the Brady family series, and I wasn’t disappointed. Temperance and Duncan from Right Where We Left Us are an easy choice for favorite couple this year.

βIβll Be Home for Christmasβ:
Name a book where a character is away from home (school, vacation, etc.)
- Misery is an outcast as a Vampyre bride to an Alpha Werewolf. I LOVED Bride by Ali Hazelwood. Her first paranormal romance, it reaffirmed for me that she’s an author who can set her romances in any world. My Review
- Liz no longer wants to be a minor character in her life, which means stepping out of her comfort zones. Rules for Second Chances by Maggie North resonated with me on many levels. I’m very excited to have been pre-approved for her next book set in the same world. My Review
- Phoebe has arrived at the Cornwall Inn prepared to spend her final night at the beautiful Rhode Island location when she gets mistaken for a wedding guest and it changes her life. I gave The Wedding People by Alison Espach five stars. It’s deeply compelling, heartbreaking, AND humorous. My Review

βHave Yourself a Merry Little Christmasβ:
Name your favorite βlittleβ book (childrenβs book, short story, novella, etc.)
For once, this is a a harder prompt to choose because I read A LOT of shorter books this year. But the one that stands out the most is If I Go Missing by Briana Jonnie, Nahanni Shingoose, and Neal Shannacappo. Everyone should read this indigenous voices graphic novel based on the author’s letter that went viral. It’s powerful and so very important.
4
βSanta Claus is Coming to Townβ:
What book do you hope Santa brings you this year?
I was 10 years old when the Challenger disaster happened. I remember sitting around a television with fellow school mates when something clearly bad happened and teachers began ushering us back to our classrooms. I’ve been fascinated with space exploration stories since, so I’m eager to read Challenger by Adam Higginbotham.
5
βRudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeerβ:
Which book turned your nose red (made you cry)?
I didn’t mind the slow-burn of Rainbow Rowell’s Slow Dance one bit. In fact, I didn’t want this one to end. I was happy to take my time with this book set in the 1990s and 2000s, filling me with nostalgia for my own teens and young adulthood.

βThe Most Wonderful Time of the Yearβ:
Your favorite book/kind of book to read during the holidays
For my holiday reads, I prefer them to be set in the snow, heartfelt, and romantic. The Christmas You Found Me by Sarah Morgenthaler ticked off each requirement.
My Review
7
βWe Three Kingsβ:
Your favorite trilogy
I haven’t read any complete trilogies so far this year, but I did read the third book in a connected series by Erin Hahn. I’ve adored these adult romances, and I think the third one may be my favorite of all.
8
βLet it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snowβ:
A character you would love to be snowed in with
Fisher, a chef in Tarah DeWitt’s Savor It, could keep me well fed.
My Review
9
βLast Christmasβ:
A book that seriously let you down
I’ve loved every book I’ve read by Katherine Center—up until her last two, including The Rom-Commers. Both books were just okay for me, but I’m not giving up on Center yet!
My Review

βWhite Christmasβ:
Upcoming releases youβre dreaming about
Since I haven’t read as much as usual this year, I am anticipating sooo many new books from my favorite authors. I forced myself to only pick five.
- Deep End by Ali Hazelwood – coming 2/4/25
- Swept Away by Beth O’Leary – coming 4/10/25
- Great Big Beautiful Life by Emily Henry – coming 4/22/25
- One Golden Summer by Carley Fortune – coming 5/6/25
- Atmosphere by Taylor Jenkins Reid – coming 6/30/25
Have I included any of your favorites? Or one from your TBR?? Let me know in the comments!
Welcome back to Top Ten Tuesday!
Iβll be Home for Christmas is one of those Christmas songs that always brings a tear to my eye. Such a good song.
This is a fun tag!
This is a great tag, Dedra. I just finished Catch and Keep and really enjoyed it. Great to see you back.
I love this post! It’s always so fun to see your favorite reads. I also read and really loved Bride and The Christmas You Found Me. Catch and Keep was very cute, too. π
