Top Ten Tuesday: Books With Numbers In The Titles On My TBR

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Books With Numbers in the Titles!

Hello Readers! Okay September. You need to slowwww down already. How are we already halfway through the month?! I have been doing a lot of reading this month, though, which is making me very happy. There’s been a hint of cooler weather here in Texas and that makes me happy, as well. I love summer, but fall is my favorite. <3

Today we’re talking about books with numbers in their titles. One of my first Top Ten Tuesday posts was Book Titles With Numbers, and looking back made me smile at how far my blog has come. In that post I chose books off my shelf with one through ten in their titles. It was quite the challenge. So this time I took a look at my to-be-read shelf and was happy to find I could repeat the sequential order.

And speaking of first TTT posts… I just celebrated My Second Blogiversary last week. I’m hosting a giveaway through the rest of the month to celebrate. Make sure you enter!

(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)

  1. Me Talk Pretty One Day by David Sedaris – I love David Sedaris! His books often have me laugh crying. I have several of his waiting to be read on my shelves. Hopefully I can get to this one soon!
  2. The Two Lives of Lydia Bird by Josie Silver – I’ve read a few ‘sliding doors’ novels recently and it’s only made me want to read more. I’ve been intrigued by this one since it was released.
  3. Tell Me Three Things by Julie Buxbaum – I’ve added and removed this YA book from my tbr several times. It’s currently back on. If you’ve read it, let me know if I should keep it there. πŸ˜‰
  4. The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah – Hannah’s most recent book is high up on my tbr, but so are many other books by the author. Like The Nightingale. I always feel a little guilty reading the newest book before the older ones.
  5. Five Total Strangers by Natalie D. Richards – I received this book from the publisher last year and feel terrible that I haven’t read it yet. I’m thinking it will be perfect in the next few months since it’s set over the holidays.
  6. Twisted Twenty-Six (Stephanie Plum, #26) by Janet Evanovich – Technically I still need to read #25 in the Stephanie Plum series, but this one is already waiting on my tbr. They’re the perfect palate-cleanser books.
  7. Seven Days in June by Tia Williams – I’ve been eager to pick this one up since it came out amid all those glowing reviews. Since I tend to read by season, I predict I won’t get to this one until next summer.
  8. Eight Perfect Hours by Lia Louis – My next read is one of my most anticipated books of the year! I fell so hard for Louis’ previous book Dear Emmie Blue.
  9. The Boys in the Boat: Nine Americans and Their Epic Quest for Gold at the 1936 Olympics by Daniel James Brown – Another one waiting on my shelf. I fully intended to read it during the Olympics this summer, but it didn’t happen.
  10. Ten Tiny Breaths (Ten Tiny Breaths, #1) by K.A. Tucker – I’m a fan of Tucker’s books, but I’ve only read 4 or 5 and she has so many. I’ve been told this is one of her best series behind The Simple Wild.

Have you read any of these titles with numbers? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Wandering!

  1. Ah… well… I see nine wasn’t easy, but I would have had one for that – “Sweetness #9” by Stephan Eirik Clark! (A very interesting story about a guy working on artificial sweeteners who realizes that the developers are hiding things from the public.)

    1. Haha! Yes, that was the only book I had on my tbr with nine in the title. Technically it is the whole title. πŸ˜‰

Ooooh, I’m allergic to artificial sweeteners so I don’t trust them at all! Ha!

  2. Great list Dedra. I almost put Twisted Twenty-Six on my list, then laughed because I could have done the whole list and more with her books. I am starting Eight Perfect Hours today.

  3. The Two Lives of Lydia Bird was wonderful. I listened to the audio version and it was so well done. Tell Me Three Things is definitely worth reading! Back on the TBR it goes. LOL And I have so much love for Ten Tiny Breaths. It was the book that introduced me to Tucker (probably 6-7 years ago).

  4. I almost did 1 to 10, then I found I didn’t have that many books with numbers in the titles on my read shelf. I love you could do this! Tell Me Three Things is a favorite of mine, and I adored Eight Perfect Hours. Louis needs to hurry up and write another book. Lydia Bird crushed my heart. It was painful, but beautiful too

    1. I was barely able to do it. Haha! I had a couple that only had one book. I’m getting many recommendations for Tell Me Three Things, so it has earned a permanent place on my tbr. I’m currently reading Eight Perfect Hours and loving it! I’m anxious to read some of Louis’ older books now. These ‘sliding doors’ books seem to always be sad, too, don’t they?!

  5. Ok, here we go. Trying this again because for some reason a lot of the old blogs I used to frequently visit don’t let me comment. *Shrugs*

So… I’m curious about “Two Lives of Lydia Bird” although I didn’t love Josie’s Christmas read. Still… I’m interested. πŸ™‚ Thanks so much for visiting Finding Wonderland on this week’s topic.

    1. I was having commenting issues earlier in the year, but I *think* they’re fixed. Please let me know if you ever comment and it doesn’t work though.

Oh, I actually enjoyed her Christmas book! But I know it had mixed reviews. <3
