I’ve decided to join in the #20BooksOfSummer22 challenge hosted by Cathy @ 746 Books! I first saw this challenge when Carla @ Carla Loves To Read shared it, and I’ve since seen several other fellow bloggers joining in. You can check out the announcement here if you’d like to join, as well!
What I like about this challenge is the flexibility. You can choose to read 10, 15, or 20 books from June 1 until September 1. I’ve decided to choose 20 books off my backlist I’m hoping to read, knowing I may only get to 10 of them. Many of these are also books I want to read for my Popsugar Reading Challenge, so I’m hoping putting them here will make it happen. Most of these are from my physical shelf, but I’ve added a few from my Kindle and Kindle Unlimited, as well.
Let’s see what I’ve chosen (in no particular order)!
(Link to the synopsis on Goodreads through the book title.)
- Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu
- Death on the Nile by Agatha Christie
- Tigers, Not Daughters by Samantha Mabry
- The House in the Cerulean Sea by TJ Klune
- Dune by Frank Herbert
- Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
- Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward
- Circe by Madeline Miller
- The Whale Rider by Witi Ihimaera
- Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman
- Maybe in Another Life by Taylor Jenkins Reid
- A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes, #2) by Sabaa Tahir
- Namesake (Fable, #2) by Adrienne Young
- Just Last Night by Mhairi McFarlane
- From Thailand With Love by Camilla Isley
- Happiness for Beginners by Katherine Center
- The Wall of Winnipeg and Me by Mariana Zapata (Kindle Unlimited)
- The Reunion by Meghan Quinn (Kindle Unlimited)
- Only When It’s Us (Bergman Brothers, #1) by Chloe Liese
- The No-Show by Beth O’Leary
Are you joining in this challenge? Do you see any books that are must-reads?
Let me know in the comments!
So glad to see you are joining in Dedra. I have read a couple of the books on your list, but also have some of these on my Backlist. A great idea of double dip! Good luck to you.
Thanks Carla! Happy I decided to join in. I don’t know how many of these I’ll actually get to, but I’m hoping for at least 10. π Good luck to you, as well!
Ooooo!!! Iβm going to do this too!! Sounds like a good backlist and popsugar challenge! I need to get more of those read! Good luck!!
Yay!! Hopefully we can cross off some of our backlist books. π
Yes!!
You have some great books here! A few I’ve read and really enjoyed. I’ll be rooting for you for the challenge!
Thanks Wendy!
Great post, Dedra! I’ll be joining in on the summer reading fun as well and I’m hoping to knock out of some of the books for my Popsugar challenge too. I see some favourites on here and I hope that you enjoy all of these reads. Happy reading π
Thanks Dini! Hopefully we can both cross off some backlist and Popsugar books. π
Nice choices Dedra, Death on the Nile is fun and I really like the look of Bad Girls Never Say Die! Thanks so much for taking part and good luck!
I’m excited to get to Death on the Nile. It’s been a few years since I’ve read a Christie book. And I’ve read and enjoyed an excerpt of Bad Girls Never Say Die, so I’m eager to continue with it. Good luck to you, as well!
THERE ARE SO MANY I CAN’T WAIT FOR YOU TO READ! First, Klune’s book and then the first 4 in the last row. You’re in for so much goodness!
YAY!! I’m soooo hoping I can get to most of these. Especially that last row! π
I’ve just signed up for this challenge, hoping to do 20 books, which I’m thinking will be ok to read over 3 months, I’m not quite convinced I’ll manage to review them, but I’ll try!
Yay! Same here. I also have an average of about 4 advanced reader’s copies a month to read, as well. So it will depend on how quickly I can get through those. I don’t always review backlist books, either. I’m thinking maybe a post with quick reviews will be easier?? Good luck to you!
I spy some great books and hope you find many hits here. I just finished The No Show. It was NOT at all what I was expecting, but I really enjoyed it.
Oooh, I’m very intrigued by your description of The No-Show. It’s going on my TBR for June!
