Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday: Typographic Book Covers

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Typographic Book Covers (Book covers with a design that is all or mostly all words. You can also choose to do books with nice typography if thatโ€™s easier!) (Submitted by Mareli @ Elza Reads)

Hello Readers! I hope you’re well this week. I loved this topic choice today. Way to go Mareli for a fabulous suggestion! There’s something about book covers that are mostly words that make me stop and take notice. I love how creative they can be. I’ll be sharing five books I’ve read and five from my TBR!

***Be sure and check out the giveaways I’m hosting to celebrate my third blogiversary!***

Let’s see what books I chose!

(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)

Books I’ve Read

  1. Dark Matter by Blake Crouch – From my review: “If you’re looking for a book to blow your mind, look no further.”
  2. She Said by Jodi Kantor & Megan Twohey – From my review: “Empowering and raw,ย She Saidย provides a detailed roadmap to the events that led up to the #MeToo movement.”
  3. High Fidelity by Nick Hornby – From my review: “This is my first Nick Hornby novel, and I can now say I know what all the fuss is about. High Fidelity is real life.”
  4. Frankly in Love by David Yoon – Still one of my favorite covers, this one is even better in person. From my review: “I LOVED this book. Oh man. It gave me all the feels. It will definitely be at the top of my favorite reads this year.”
  5. You Think it, I’ll Say It by Curtis Sittenfeld – From my review: “I thoroughly enjoyed each and every story. I don’t know how she did it, but within a few sentences the speaker’s voice was clear and their character established.”

Books From My TBR

  1. The Sun is Also a Star by Nicola Yoon
  2. Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close by Jonathan Safran Foer
  3. Annihilation by Jeff Vandermeer
  4. One Plus One by Jojo Moyes
  5. Exit West by Mohsin Hamid

Have you read any of these? Did you add any to your TBR? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Wandering!

  1. I love seeing One Plus One. That book was so good. The Sun is Also a Star has that lovely string art which makes me think of the connections between everything in the story. A rather meaningful cover with mostly only type

  2. Great list Dedra. I didn’t think I would find any, so I did last week’s topic that I missed. I have actually read a couple of these. These covers are actually eye catching, I thought that covers with mostly text would be boring.
