Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Bookish Merchandise Iβd Love to Own, a prompt I was excited about but waited too late to work on, so I’m pulling a last minute twist.
Hello Readers! Can we just slow this month down?? I have books to finish reading, Nanowrimo projects to work on, and blog posts/blog hopping to catch up on! Not to mention life’s everyday demands.
I’ve been doing so well staying ahead of my TTT posts… until this week. I woke up Monday morning realizing I hadn’t even started the weekly post. So I knew I couldn’t devote the attention the prompt deserved, and decided to do something more straightforward that wouldn’t require too much thinking. AND it might help me pick these books up sooner. π I took a quick look back at all my TTT posts that involved my TBR and found the top ten books I’ve mentioned and still haven’t read. Since I’ve only been blogging for two and a half years, it didn’t take too long. All of these titles have appeared more than once on my TTT to-be-read lists.
Let’s see what I still need to read!
(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)
- Doctor Zhivago by Boris Pasternak – I imagine myself curled up with this book by the fire on a cold, snowy day—which may be why I haven’t read it yet. We don’t get very many snowy days here in Texas!
- Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz ZafΓ³n – This title has been taunting me from the shelf for years. I feel confident it’s one I’ll enjoy, if only I can find the time.
- Namesake (Fable, #2) by Adrienne Young – Fable was one of my top reads for 2020, so it’s odd that I haven’t picked up the sequel. Maybe I’m afraid it won’t live up to its predecessor?
- Firekeeper’s Daughter by Angeline Boulley – This is a fairly new book that’s appeared on my most recent TBR posts, so I don’t feel too bad that I haven’t picked it up yet. I’m “planning” on finally getting to it this summer.
- The Bromance Book Club by Lyssa Kay Adams – Another one I’ve had on my shelf for a while. I hear so many great things.
- The Nightingale by Kristen Hannah – The next two books are the ones that have appeared on my TBRs the most often. I so want to read them, but I know they’ll be emotional.
- The Four Winds by Kristen Hannah – I especially want to read this one set in Texas.
- Bad Girls Never Say Die by Jennifer Mathieu – Another more recent book—also set in Texas—I’m hoping to get to it this summer, as well.
- Circe by Madeline Miller – After Hannah’s books, this one has been on my TBR lists the most. I finally read (and loved) The Song of Achilles last year, so I’m even more determined to get to this one. I know it will be emotional, as well.
- Mansfield Park by Jane Austen – My final full-length Austen book to read. Which is probably why I haven’t read it yet. π
Do you see any I should read sooner rather than later? Let me know in the comments!
I know, this month is flying by!!! Iβve been so busy that Iβm falling a bit behind on blogging & reading! I hope things start to slow a bit for you! I hope you get to some of these books too! π
Yes! I really could use an extra week. Haha! I hope it slows down for you, as well. <3
I have some of the same books on my list (Bromance Book Club for one). You MUST pick up Firekeeper’s Daughter soon…..it was one of my favorite books of 2021!!
Firekeeper’s is one of the books at the top of my list! Fingers crossed I can get to it over the next few months. π
Shadow of the Wind has been on my TBR list for way too long, too. And I’m sure it’s made it to multiple seasonal or other special TBR posts here on the blog as well. Hopefully we’ll both get to it soon!
I did a quote post for TTT: https://bookwyrmknits.com/2022/04/19/top-ten-tuesday-more-bookish-quotes/
Glad I’m not the only one! π I’ll keep reminding you, if you keep reminding me! Haha!
LOL! π
I was shocked to see it is already the 19th of April. I have read both the Kristin Hannah books, The Bromance Book Club and Namesake, all good choices. The Firekeeper’s Daughter is coming up for me soon. I hope you finally get the time to read these books, Dedra.
Glad I’m not alone! April seems to be on fast forward. π I feel confident I’ll enjoy all of these, if I can only find the time. Hopefully we can both get to Firekeeper soon!
This is a GREAT prompt! You need to recommend this one for us all to do.
Thank you!! Maybe I’ll do that. I know I can find even more books I haven’t read. π
I recently did a post like this as well. It’s a good one when you need something quick! I hope you get to these soon.
Maybe you’re why it was stuck in the back of my mind! π It was a nice quick one. I still want to return to the Bookish items post, but I felt overwhelmed when I tried to work on it. Ha!
I understand that completely, LOL!
I only read two of these (both big hits for me), but if I had to pick one — The Nightingale. My emotions! Phenomenal.
I think it’s all the emotions that have me nervous. Ha!
Nice list! I need to read The Nightingale too.
It’s nice to hear I’m not the only one who hasn’t read it yet. Hopefully we can both get to it soon!
I feel like this month has flown on by and it’s nice to see I’m not the only one experiencing that! I haven’t read any of the books you featured but I literally own all but 4 of them lol
Haha! Glad I’m not the only one who hasn’t been able to get to these. Hopefully we can both get to a few of them soon!
