Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Books with [___] On the Cover (Pick a thing (a color, an item, a place, an animal, a scripty font, a sexy person, etc.) and share covers that have that thing on the cover.)
Hello Readers! We are now firmly ensconced in Spring here, the cold weather seems to be behind us and sudden thunderstorms are a weekly occurrence. So when I saw today’s fill-in-the-blank prompt for book covers, my mind went to flowers, which are in full bloom here in Texas. I also couldn’t help but notice the abundance of book covers with flowers that I’ve recently been adding to my TBR (To-Be-Read list).
So let’s take a look at the last ten books I’ve added to my TBR with flowers on the cover. You might have to look closely for some of these!
(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)
- A Magic Steeped In Poison by Judy I. Lin – a YA Fantasy that wasn’t on my radar until so many of you were reading and enjoying it. (3/29/22)
- With Love From London by Sarah Jio – A bookish romance about a librarian set in a bookshop that sounds delightful! (2/8/22)
- Birds of California by Katie Cotugno – This rom-com set in Hollywood sounds like a perfect pool-side read. (4/26/22)
- Scarlet Carnation by Laila Ibrahim – A historical fiction novel about racial injustice amid WWI, this was my Amazon First Reads choice in March. (4/1/22)
- Dream On by Angie Hockman – The cover is what first attracted me to this book about a girl who wakes up from a car accident with very real memories of a boyfriend who doesn’t exist—until he suddenly does. (7/5/22)
- Built to Last by Erin Hahn – I was very happy to be invited to read Hahn’s adult debut after enjoying her last YA book, Never Saw You Coming (My Review). (10/18/22)
- You Made a Fool of Death with Your Beauty by Akwaeke Emezi – I was invited to read this book with a title from the lyrics of a Florence + the Machine song (one of my favorite artists), but as I’m already overbooked for May, I don’t think I can squeeze it in. The early reviews are quite varied, from five stars to one, which actually only intrigues me even more. π (5/24/22)
- Daughter of the Moon Goddess by Sue Lynn Tan – Much like the first selection on this list, this is another YA Fantasy novel that many of you are raving about. (1/11/22)
- The Emma Project by Sonali Dev – After reading and loving Dev’s recent novella The Wedding Setup (My Review), I quickly added her other selections to my TBR. I’m especially excited about her Austen-inspired series, which this one is from. (5/17/22)
- The Layover by Lacie Waldon – An enemies to lovers rom-com about a flight attendant many of you have enjoyed, which prompted its addition to my TBR. (6/15/21)
Have you read any of these yet? Did you add any to your TBR? Let me know in the comments!
Great minds!!!! Haha! I did florals on my TBR!! I want to read Magic Streeped in Poison so bad! Soon π
Haha! Great minds, indeed! We’re so excited about Spring. π
Your post is just an explosion of spring!! So many pretty covers!
I’m such a sucker for pretty covers. π
Such beautiful BRIGHTLY COLORED covers! I love it!
Thank you! I can’t seem to resist them. π
Great list! You’re right, I did have to take a closer look at With Love From London to see the flowers there…
My TTT this week: http://bookwyrmknits.com/2022/04/26/top-ten-tuesday-books-with-teacups-on-the-cover/
Yep, that was just a lucky find on my part. Barely noticed it. π
The Flowers on Built to Last are so subtle I almost missed them. That’s such a cute cover.
Yes! I had to work on this prompt on my phone so I could see the covers in more detail. π I’m so excited to get to Built to Last!
So many gorgeous covers! It’s been a long while since I read anything by Cotugno but I always enjoy hers.
Oh that’s good to hear! I’ve never read anything by her. π
Dedra – get out of my head! I did flowers too! I have apparently read so many books with flowers on the cover that I could not include them all. Per usual, I have read a few of these (three) andI have a few coming up (2). I like that I can depend on your TTT posts for books I am familiar with.
Haha! Leslie said she did flowers, too! We must all have Spring on the mind. I have so many books with flowers, as well. The last ten added to my TBR seemed like the easiest way to narrow it down or else I’d spend too much time trying to pick my favorites. π I have to admit, one of my first actions when I’m considering a new book on Goodreads is to see if you’ve read it and what you thought since our tastes are so similar. π
What a beautiful roundup of covers that just scream SPRING!
Thank you! I DO love spring, but I also tend to love every season I’m in. Until it overstays its welcome. Haha!
I felt the same way with this prompt and had to celebrate spring! Love these floral covers
Yes! I love how colorful all the spring posts are. π
So many beautiful floral covers! Daughter of the Moon Goddess is on my TBR!
Thank you! Hopefully we can both get to it someday. π
