TBR Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesday: The Last 10 Books I Bought, But Still Haven’t Read

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Bookish Wishes (List the top 10 books you’d love to own and include a link to your wishlist so that people can grant your wish.) But since I’m currently overwhelmed with existing books, I decided to twist the prompt this week.

Hello Readers! I hope this week’s TTT finds you well. This is one of my favorite weeks out of the year. We’ll be celebrating our anniversary, my youngest child is turning 18(!!!), and it’ll also be Father’s Day on Sunday here in the states. My son does still have a year left of high school, so I’m relieved I get to ease into the idea of having all adult children a little slower. πŸ˜ƒ

I love the Bookish Wishes prompt, BUT my bookshelves are currently overflowing and I’m desperately trying to read what I already own this year, even trying harder to limit my ARCs, too. I think I’ve done pretty well so far! So today I’ll be sharing the last 10 physical books I bought, whether they were new or used, ordered online or picked up in a store.

Let’s see what I still need to read!

(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)

  1. Meet Me in Paradise by Libby Hubscher
  2. I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings by Maya Angelou
  3. A Torch Against the Night (An Ember in the Ashes, #2) by Sabaa Tahir
  4. Conversations With Friends by Sally Rooney
  5. Somewhere Close to Happy by Lia Louis
  6. Babel: An Arcane History by R.F. Kuang
  7. King of Scars (King of Scars, #1) by Leigh Bardugo
  8. Rule of Wolves (King of Scars, #2) by Leigh Bardugo
  9. The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes by Suzanne Collins
  10. Heartstopper: Volume Three by Alice Oseman

Have you read any of these books? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Wandering!

    1. Babel is just so thick, though. Haha! Don’t get me wrong, I do love to add to my shelves, but I just have a problem dealing with the guilt of not reading gifted books asap. πŸ˜† I hope you got some of your wishes!

  1. What an interesting milestone – all adult children. I only have one, so not that meaningful for me, but I can see that being a something to ponder. Happy anniversary! I am shocked you have not read that Lia Louis book. I thought you would have read it straight away when you found it. I am warning you to have tissues handy when you read Paradise. Beautiful, but painful.

    1. It probably doesn’t help that I’ve homeschooled all my kids, so we’ve spent a lot of time under the same roof. It’s been hard for me to watch them go, even though I’m so proud of the fully functioning adults they’ve become. πŸ˜‰

Right?! I don’t know how I haven’t read the Louis book either. Too many other books demanding attention.

Oooh, I do like the sound of beautiful, but painful. Bring on the emotions!

  2. I went rogue on this week’s TTT, too. Happy Anniversary! I hope you have a fabulous week with all your celebrating. πŸ˜€

  3. Happy Anniversary to both of you, Dedra! Happy Birthday to your son as well. I remember when my youngest left for college, I balled my eyes out. I like you twist on this top ten, as I don’t like the Wish week, I am uncomfortable with it. I hope you get to all of these (I know you at least read the Lia Louis one) and enjoy them.

    1. Thank you Carla! I did struggle when my oldest left for college and my middle one moved out. It’s such a hard adjustment. Thankfully my son has another year of high school and is planning to commute the first few years of college. πŸ˜… I’m anxious to pick up the Louis one, for sure!

  4. What a fantastic week for you! I read the book by Maya Angelou years ago, but some of the ones on your list should be on my TBR. I hope you’ll get to read those ten books this year πŸ™‚
