Top Ten Tuesday: Most Anticipated Book Releases | July – December 2023

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Most Anticipated Books Releasing In the Second Half of 2023.

Hello Readers! Today we’re looking at our most anticipated books for the second half of 2023. I think my last gazillion posts have been about my TBR, so in an effort to stop repeating myself, I’ll be sharing books I haven’t mentioned or only mentioned a few times. A few of them are ARCs I just recently picked up, but some of these are books I might not even get to this year. BUT I am excited to read them eventually. I did notice that I read 8 out of the 10 books from my post for the first half of the year, so yay for that! πŸ₯°

Let’s see what books I’m excited about!

(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)

  1. SeptemberThe Wake-Up Call by Beth O’Leary – I have NOT been approved for the ARC of this seasonal romance masquerading as a regular romance, but I’ve loved everything I’ve read by O’Leary, so even if I don’t get an ARC, I’ll be picking this one up as soon as I can.
“Two hotel receptionists–and arch-rivals–find a collection of old wedding rings and compete to return them to their owners, discovering their own love story along the way.”
  2. SeptemberThe Christmas Wager by Holly Cassidy – I do have an ARC of this one, and it will be my first book by the author.
“…a delightful enemies-to-lovers holiday rom-com set in the quaint town of Maple Falls, about a city girl and a small-town boy who compete in the town’s annual holiday games in order to win the right price for a Christmas shop…”
  3. SeptemberLove, Holly by Emily Stone – I also have an ARC of this one, and I’ve enjoyed all of Stone’s novels.
“A young woman tries to heal a rift in her elderly pen pal’s family in time for Christmas, all while falling in loveβ€”and maybe even reuniting with her own family…”
  4. OctoberA Winter in New York by Josie Silver – I’ve loved Silver’s last few novels, as well, so I’m excited to pick this one up. Still hoping I get approved for the ARC. 🀞
“A young chef stumbles on a secret family recipe that might lead her to the loveβ€”and lifeβ€”she’s been looking for in this stunning novel.”
  5. OctoberThe Burnout by Sophie Kinsella – I adore Kinsella’s books, and I’m excited for this one. Another one I’m hoping to get approved for the ARC.
“Sparks fly in this delightful novel about two burned out professionals who meet at a ramshackle resort on the British seaside.”
  6. OctoberSword Catcher by Cassandra Clare – I’m a big fan of Clare’s Shadowhunter series, so I’m super curious about her new series outside of that world. This is one I probably won’t pick up this year, though.
“Two outcasts find themselves at the center of world-altering change in the start of a riveting epic fantasy series.”
  7. OctoberThe Unmaking of June Farrow by Adrienne Young – I was a big fan of Spells for Forgetting, and this sounds like it’s in the same style.
“A woman risks everything to end her family’s centuries-old curse, solve her mother’s disappearance, and find love…”
  8. OctoberThe Graham Effect by Elle Kennedy – From what I understand, this is a new series about the offspring from Kennedy’s Off-Campus series. I’ve only read the first book from that series, but I’m still excited for this new one!
“Gigi Graham has exactly three goals: qualify for the women’s national hockey team, win Olympic gold, and step out of her famous father’s shadow. So far, so good, except for two little things. Fine–a little thing and a big, grumpy thing. She needs to improve her game behind the net, and she needs help from Luke Ryder.”
  9. NovemberCheck & Mate by Ali Hazelwood – I’ve adored everything I’ve read by this author, so I’ll be reading this one as soon as I can!
“…life’s moving pieces bring rival chess players together in a match for the heart.”
  10. NovemberThe Good Part by Sophie Cousens – I was just approved for this ARC, which makes me very happy! I do love a good ‘sliding doors’ type of book.
“…a downtrodden twenty-six-year-old wakes up to the life she’s always wanted, but is it really a dream come true?”

Do we share any books on our most anticipated list? Have you read any of these yet? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Wandering!

    1. I’m so jealous! πŸ˜‰ I got an ARC for Love, Theoretically, so shouldn’t I get one for her next book?! That’s the way it should work in my book. Haha! I feel like it’s probably not gonna happen since so many others have already been approved. But I’m looking forward to reading it when it comes out. I’m so behind on Kennedy’s backlist. I have so much catching up to do, but I’m excited for this one, too!

    1. Yeah, Clare seems to be one of those authors readers either like or don’t. Her writing wasn’t the best when she started, but she had such a creative world and characters. I think her writing has really improved over the years, as well. It’ll be interesting to see how she does outside of the Shadowhunter universe.

  1. Wait, there are three spin offs from the Off Campus series? I have to find out more. I loved that series. I see many authors I love and know I will read as well – Kinsella, O’Leary, Cousens, Silver, Stone, and I have an ARC for The Christmas Wager – Holiday books for the win

    1. I’m so new to Kennedy, I have no idea how many spin-offs there are! Haha! I’ve only read The Deal. I need to catch-up. Yay for holiday reads! I don’t think I read any holiday ARCs last year, but I’ll be making up for it this year. πŸ˜‰

  2. Check & Mate made my TTT list this week, too. And I love the look of The Christmas Wager! I’ll be adding that one to my TBR list. πŸ˜€
