Top Ten Tuesday: Authors I Haven’t Read, But Want To Soon

Top Ten Tuesday is hosted by the lovely Jana @ That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Authors I Haven’t Read, But Want To (Submitted by Deanna @ A Novel Glimpse)

Hello Readers! I hope you’re all safe and well this week. Our start to April has been stormy and windy here, but at least it’s warmer! Life has been busy, but I’ve still managed to read quite a bit. I also finished the second season of Bridgerton, but I was a little disappointed it didn’t follow the book more closely. I’m not sure I liked the changes to Edwina… have you watched it and read the book? What did you think?

Today we’re talking about authors we want to read, but haven’t yet. I love this topic, so kudos to Deanna! If you’re not a follower of hers, you should be. I’ve discovered soooo many new romance authors thanks to her blog! I was happy to discover as I was working on this post, that I’d recently read many of the authors that would have made this list not so long ago. Including Mariana Zapata, Meghan Quinn, Sally Thorne, and Martha Wells. But I still have so many others I need to pick up.

Let’s see who I’d like to read soon!

  1. Yaaas, Dedra! I love to see Chloe Liese and TJ Klune on here AND HEARTSTOPPER! 😍 I also really loved Shusterman’s Arc of a Scythe series. SO many goodies on here. I have Tana French on my TBR and hope to check out one of her books this year too. I hope you enjoy all of these authors/books!

    1. It’s definitely thanks to you that Liese, Klune, and probably Oseman are on this list. 😉 All of them–and Shusterman–are penciled in on my Popsugar challenge. Hopefully that will help me finally pick them up. 😃 Happy Reading!

  2. Oh great list! I should have added Sarah J. Maas to my list too. I’ve read some of Chloe Liese’s books and want to read more, she’s so good.

    1. It’s nice to know I’m not the only one who hasn’t read a Maas boon. 😉 Liese’s Bergman series has been very high up on my tbr for too long. Hopefully I can pick it up soon!

    1. I really need to pick up Cerulean Sea soon! I’m starting to feel like the only reader who hasn’t read it. Ha! It’s penciled in on my yearly challenge. Hopefully that will make it happen. Scythe is penciled in, as well. Fingers crossed! 😉

  3. So many amazing books on this list, Dedra!! I hope you get to them because you are in for some great reading. I love Maas, Klune, and Heartstopper is so good!! It’s going to be on Netflix, this month, I think!

  4. Aw, thanks! I love that you have already chipped away at some of the authors you wanted to try. It was still fun to read this list. I think you will love 4, 5, and 6.

    1. I was very excited when I started working on this list and realized I’d read so many new authors. Hopefully I’ll be able to cross off most of these this year. I feel pretty confident I’ll enjoy them. 🙂

  5. I love this list! Here are some random thoughts:
** the Dutch House is narrated by Tom Hanks and I definitely recommend the audiobook
** Brenden Kiely is coauthor of All American Boys and I adore his books too!
** Alice Oseman has been on my list for awhile and I hope to get to her this summer!
** I have loved the books I’ve read by Shusterman, but I still have SO MUCH of his backlist to catch up on. I’m hoping to get to Roxy sometime soon!

    1. Ohhhh, I love these random thoughts/tips! Leslie reminded me that Heartstopper is being adapted soon, so maybe that will spur me to pick it up. And Yes! Shusterman’s backlist is massive. I had to just pick a few to share. I watched him do a Zoom about Roxy and I was very intrigued. He’s so imaginative!

  6. I have read books from one through seven — all great. Legend is one of my all-time favorite series. Long Way Down is a must read, if you ask me, and my daughter can do a TedTalk on how amazing the Scythe series was.

    1. Oh yay! Another recommendation for Marie Lu! And yes, I think that’s why I haven’t picked up Maas. I’ll need to block out a month to get through the series. 😉
