When the end of the month arrives, I’m always disappointed by how little I seemed to read, but I’m not a super fast reader. However, I did read a couple of hefty books this month, so those took longer than usual.
(Not pictured are The Grace Year, which I read on my kindle, and The Only Plane in the Sky, which my husband borrowed.)
Useless Magic by Florence Welch ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars
This one is a must have for true fans! Beautiful!
Frankly in Love by David Yoon ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars
Loved this one! See my review here.
The Grace Year by Kim Liggett ⭐⭐⭐/5 stars
Didn’t love this one, but I think it was mostly a case of wrong book at the wrong time. See my review here.
The Only Plane in the Sky: An Oral History of 9/11 by Garrett M. Graff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars
This one blew me away. Phenomenal. Review here.
The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 stars
FINALLY got to read this one. I was trying to read it in time to see the new film in the theater. Well, it’s no longer playing in my area. Are you kidding me?? It came out like two weeks ago. <sigh>
I’m excited for fall and cooler weather. I try to participate in Nanowrimo in November, so October is usually about reading as many books as I can to finish up my reading challenge for the year, as well as any fallish/spooky reads I want to throw in. I like to reserve December for strictly holiday/winter themed books. How about you?? Is there a certain book/books you’re excited to read this month?
I am the ultimate turtle reader, so your wrap up looks quite impressive! Good for you. I’d like to read “Frankly in Love” soonish because it does sound really cute. 🙂 Hope you’re enjoying a great October.
Ha! I’m so glad I’m not alone. 🙂 I hope you like Frankly in Love as much as I did!
I’m so happy you loved your reading choices! Frankly in Love was one I also enjoyed. In September I read Ignite the Star and Eclipse the Skies and enjoyed this duology. My favorite of September was The Fountains of Silence, which actually surprised me as I don’t read much historical fiction. I also read slowly so my totals are always low in comparison, so you are not alone.
I’ve heard good things about The Fountains of Silence! Yay for slower readers!! 🙂
Thank you so much for stopping by!
