Hello Readers! It’s been a long time since I’ve been a little sad to see a month end, but I had a great March. I read more than normal thanks to a readathon (My March Wrap-Up) and I added many more books to my digital and physical shelves. I don’t feel too bad about the additions since I managed to read so much.
Is it just me or is 2021 shaping up to be an unprecedented year for books? Now we know what all the authors did with their 2020! I couldn’t resist adding more ARCs to my growing pile. I currently have EIGHT(!!) ARCs for May (and four for June), but I’ve already read three, so hopefully I can continue to stay ahead of them. π

My Physical ARCs
- The Other Black Girl by Zakiya Dalila Harris – “Get Out meets The Devil Wears Prada in this electric debut about the tension that unfurls when two young Black women meet against the starkly white backdrop of New York City book publishing.” That blurb had me right away! Available 6/1/21
- The Maidens by Alex Michaelides – This one is a dark academia mystery thriller about a Greek Tragedy professor at Cambridge University adored by a secret society of female students known as The Maidens. It sounds decadent! Available 6/15/21
My eARCs
- Sunshine Girl: An Unexpected Life by Julianna Margulies – I requested this one after seeing so many glowing early reviews! Available 5/4/21
- A Summer to Remember by Erika Montgomery – I was invited to read this one and didn’t accept it right away since I had so many ARCs already for May, but I started seeing some great early reviews and decided to go for it! Available 5/11/21
- Version Zero by David Yoon – I was a Shelf Awareness winner of an eARC for this one. I’ve read and loved all of Yoon’s previous books. Available 5/25/21
- Damnation Spring by Ash Davidson – I found this one on a Must Read list. It’s an environmental mystery set in a logging town in the Pacific Northwest. Available 8/31/21
- Heard It In A Love Song by Tracey Garvis Graves – I previously enjoyed Graves’ The Girl He Used to Know, so I was happy to accept when I was invited to read her newest romance. And bonus, it’s about music! Available 11/2/21
- Within These Wicked Walls by Lauren Blackwood – This one is an Ethiopian-inspired debut fantasy retelling of Jane Eyre. Need I say more?? Available 11/9/21
My Paperbackswap Books
- Ashfall by Mike Mullin
- Band Geek Love by Josie Bloss
- The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
- The Southern Book Club’s Guide to Slaying Vampires by Grady Hendrix
- Tweet Cute by Emma Lord
My Purchases
My pre-ordered copy of Chain of Iron showed up a few days after the publishing date and I immediately started reading. And can we just stop and appreciate how gorgeous this cover is?? It’s impossible to capture in pictures.
I picked up an ebook of Queenie by Candice Carty-Williams when I saw it on sale and I also purchased The Black God’s Drums by P. DjΓ¨lΓ Clark to fulfill prompts on my March readathon. I enjoyed them both!
Amazon First Reads
I chose The Secret Stealers by Jane Healey as my Amazon First Reads for March. It’s about a female American spy in Nazi-occupied France. Available 4/1/21
