Top Ten Tuesday: Characters I’d Follow on Social Media

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Characters I’d Follow on Social Media! And since I primarily stick to blogging and Instagram, I thought I’d combine the two for this post. 🙂

Hello Readers! I can’t believe February is almost over. I hope you’re all having a great month! We’re doing some home projects, and I’m knee deep in spring cleaning before spring. 🙂 I’m also on the final book of my rereading of The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare in preparation for the release of Chain of Gold on March 3rd! So while I may not be blog hopping as much as I would like, if you leave a comment and a link to your post, I promise I will check it out! <3

(Link to synopsis on Goodreads through the book title.)

1

Lara Jean Covey from To All the Boys Series

Think of all the great posts she’d make about baking! I could definitely use some advice on cooking.

2

Willem De Ruiter from Just One Day Series

I feel like Willem’s Instagram would be full of artistically beautiful photos and meaningful quotes.

3

Ronan Lynch from The Raven Cycle and The Dreamer Trilogy

One thing’s for sure, Ronan Lynch’s Instagram would never be boring.

4

Sloane from Whisper Network

Who wouldn’t want to get a glimpse behind the scenes of a large male-dominated company as the women gain more power!

??I just realized I never shared my thoughts on WHISPER NETWORK. I loved this timely novel about women in a corporate setting. I wasn’t surprised that @reesesbookclubxhellosunshine chose it. And I can see it becoming a film, as well. ? • #allthebooksjuly19 ▪️ Book you’d take on vacation (And I did!) • Here’s the synopsis from Goodreads: Four women learn their boss (a man who’s always been surrounded by rumors about how he treats women) is next in line to be CEO—what will happen when they decide enough is enough? Sloane, Ardie, Grace, and Rosalita are four women who have worked at Truviv, Inc., for years. The sudden death of Truviv's CEO means their boss, Ames, will likely take over the entire company. Ames is a complicated man, a man they’ve all known for a long time, a man who’s always been surrounded by…whispers. Whispers that have always been ignored by those in charge. But the world has changed, and the women are watching Ames’s latest promotion differently. This time, they’ve decided enough is enough. Sloane and her colleagues set in motion a catastrophic shift within every floor and department of the Truviv offices. All four women’s lives—as women, colleagues, mothers, wives, friends, even adversaries—will change dramatically as a result. "If only you had listened to us,” they tell us on page one, “none of this would have happened." • #whispernetwork @chandlerbakerbooks @flatiron_books #bookchallenge @netgalley

5

Jane Hawk from the Jane Hawk Series

Not that Jane Hawk would have time to use Instagram, much less use something that might lead to her capture, but I could see her using it to her advantage. Every post would hold a clue. 😉

6

Dustin from Stranger Things

I feel like of all the characters on Stranger Things, Dustin would have the Instagram posts that would keep us laughing.

7

Elizabeth Bennett from Pride and Prejudice

Elizabeth would say the most profound things, and with all those walks she takes, she’d have lots of nature to share.

8

Cath Avery from Fangirl

I would love to live vicariously through Cath as she experiences the good and bad of college life.

9

Amy Curry from Amy & Roger’s Epic Detour

One of my favorite things is to travel, so I would love to follow Amy. I feel like this was only the beginning of so many more road trips.

10

Count Alexander Rostov from A Gentleman in Moscow

It might seem like following the Instagram of someone stuck in a hotel might be boring, but think of the sights he’d have from that attic window!

Have you read any of these? What characters would you like to follow on social media? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Wandering!

  1. I’d follow Lara Jean as well – not for the recipes though. I’d follow her for the food pics she’d post that would make me hungry for sure.

I’d love to follow Will, Tessa and Jem from The Infernal Devices – it’d be fun to see what shenanigans they’d pull off. Oh and Pepper and Jack from Tweet Cute! They would have constant Twitter wars.

    1. Ha! Yes, Lara Jean’s food pics would send me to the kitchen! 😉

Oh, I can just see Will, Tessa, and Jem’s posed pics with some demon trophies. Lol I haven’t read Tweet Cute yet, but it’s on my tbr! Now I want to read it even more. <3

    1. Thank you so much! Oh yay, I’m gonna go check out your post. I barely do Twitter, but they would be hilarious on there. 🙂

  2. Oooh, Lara Jean! What a great pick — AND Oh hell yes, the inside scoop on a male dominated company like in the Whisper network? Yes please, especially if it’s Anon!

  3. I think I really need to read a Gentleman in Moscow. This is the second time I’ve seen mention of this Count and I’m super curious now! Lara Jean is also a pretty popular pick for this TTT. Would definitely follow her socials! And Elisabeth too ? Auto-follow for sure! Haha great list 😉

    1. It’s been awhile since I read Gentleman, but it has stuck with me, so I think that’s a sign of a good book. Especially since my memory is terrible. 😉 Oh, yes, so many would be auto-follows!

    1. I’m in the last half of Clockwork Princess, and then I’m hoping to read all the short stories and bits she’s added on her Tumblr. I’d forgotten how all-consuming these books are. And it’s my fourth reread! 😉 I’m so excited for Chain of Gold!

  4. I don’t know why my brain went straight to twitter, because there are so many other characters well suited for other social media platforms. Like, you’re so right, Ronan would be perfect on Instagram!

    1. Ha! And my brain just went straight to Instagram. Most of his posts would probably end up being taken down though. 😉

  5. Great list! Elizabeth Bennet almost made my list – but there were just so many Jane Austen characters that I would follow that I wasn’t even sure how to narrow it down! You are right about the nature walks – imagine! I haven’t read A Gentleman in Moscow yet – but I scored it at a thrift store. I’m hoping to love it!

    Here’s my list! https://bygloryalone.blogspot.com/2020/02/top-ten-tuesday-day-late-characters-id.html

    1. Ha! Yes, there would be so many I’d want to follow. I hope you enjoy A Gentleman in Moscow as much as I did. It’s stuck with me, so for me, that’s always a sign of a good book. <3

Thanks for the link to your post. Heading there now!
