Top Ten Tuesday: Book Covers with Fall Vibes I Want To Own

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. Each week a new theme is suggested for bloggers to participate in. This week’s prompt is Book Covers with Fall Colors/Vibes (or spring if you live in the southern hemisphere).

Hello Readers! I hope you’re all well and safe during these challenging times. Good things are around the corner! I decided to focus on book covers that give me fall vibes off my TBR that I want to own because I’d already done Books That Give Off Autumn Vibes last year. I don’t know if all of these are set in fall, but the covers definitely give me fall vibes. ๐Ÿ™‚

(Link to Goodreads synopsis through book title.)

  1. We Have Always Lived in the Castle by Shirley Jackson – Any Shirley Jackson book tends to give me autumn vibes. This is one that’s been on my TBR for years.
  2. The Four Winds by Kristin Hannah – Okay, so technically this one won’t be published until February of 2021 but I am loving the cover. It’s set in Texas (my home state) during the Dust Bowl era. It’s a must-read for me.
  3. SHOUT by Laurie Halse Anderson – Anderson’s poetic memoir and call to action advocating for survivors of sexual assault. Her YA novel Speak was so powerful. I’m sure her memoir is, as well. I love the tree motif on both covers.
  4. The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo – I’ve heard only great things about this book and the cover is gorgeous with its fallish colors.
  5. Heart Bones by Colleen Hoover – So this one is set in the summer, but those colors and skulls are giving me fall vibes. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  6. The Librarian of Auschwitz by Antonio Iturbe – I’ve loved this cover since the first time I saw it. I’m sure the story packs a powerful punch, as well.
  7. Serious Moonlight by Jenn Bennett – I’m always drawn to covers that involve looking through a window. This one gives me serious fall and winter vibes. I know this one seems to have mixed reviews. Have you read it?
  8. Meet Me On Love Lane by Nina Bocci – This is a book I discovered from you guys, fellow bloggers. It gives me all the fall feels. And I need to pick it up soon!
  9. The Mountains Sing by Nguyแป…n Phan Quแบฟ Mai – Another exquisite cover, this book sounds beautiful and emotional. It’s a multigenerational novel that tells the story of the Tran family in Viet Nam and the devastating war that destroys their lives.
  10. Autumn by Ali Smith – This is the first book in Smith’s Seasonal series. It doesn’t get more fall vibes than this. It seems to have mixed reviews, but I’m still intrigued by the whole series. Have you read it??

Have you read any of these? What’s your favorite fall read? Let me know in the comments!

Happy Wandering!

  1. I love seeing We Have Always Lived in the Castle on your list! It’s incredibly atmospheric and, really, the perfect fall read. I hope you can snag a copy soon. This is the second time I’m seeing Meet Me on Love Lane today and I love that cover. Definitely adding it to my TBR pile.

    1. Yes! I just need to stop waiting and pick up We Have Always Lived in the Castle. And Meet Me on Love Lane. Those are the two at the top of my lists. I hope you get to pick it up soon, too. <3

  2. These are great covers! I just got The Poet X out of the library, and I didn’t realize how much the cover has an autumn vibe until you listed it. (But now that you posted it, it seems so obvious that I don’t know why I didn’t see it before.)

  3. Great list!! Hey, Texas is also my home state! Well, it was where I was born.. I now live in Ohio and have since I was 13 but I hate Ohio. I claim Texas. hahaha I am so pumped for Four Winds but I’m a bit salty! I was denied on Netgalley for them to send out an email for Read Now… I couldn’t do it because I was already denied!! Ugh!! I saw a lot of people in the same situation but they have two accounts. I didn’t know that was a thing! lol

    1. Oh my goodness! Me, too! I was denied and then they sent out the Read Now email. That happens to me a lot. I didn’t know people had two accounts?? I wonder how that works? I have a hard enough time keeping up with my one. Ha! Part of me has been thinking I’ll stop requesting books early just for that problem. Netgalley needs to fix it.

  4. Heart Bones is so gorgeous! These books all definitely give off major fall vibes. I need to read The Poet X… But oh! I’ve read Serious Moonlight twice. (I read it last fall, and then a few months ago I listened to the audiobook!) It’s not a favorite of mine, but I love the way Bennet writes and the characters she creates (especially the male leads!), so it’s definitely one I recommend.

  5. Such a beautiful list!!! ?
Serious Moonlight was one of my favourite books last year!! It was such a fun and cosy read! It’s a contemporary romance with a mystery plot and it was soooo goooooood! I highly recommend it!
Meet Me on Love Lane has such a gorgeous cover!! And sounds like a cute and cosy read to curl up with!
    Happy Reading! <3

    1. Oooh, I didn’t know Serious Moonlight had a mystery plot!! I’m so happy to hear you liked it. Next time I can catch that one on sale, I’m snatching it up! ๐Ÿ˜‰
